If your concern is about the “complicated” case of your claim or you need someone to explain to you about your benefit application, then it is better that you contact SSS thru the SSS Hotline. The IVRS is a viable option if your inquiry is only about the exact number of your Contribution, Loan Balance, Status of Benefit, or those that can be queried from a computer because basically the IVRS is runned by a computer. IVRS is just like the telephone sequence that first answers you whenever you are calling at your Telecom Provider.
IVRS stands for Interactive Voice Response System which is an automated system that will answer your basic SSS-related questions like your last Contributions, Status of Benefit or Loan Application, your Loan Balance, etc.
In case you are not aware of your own SSS Number and do not have a reference for it, do not worry, as they will ask for other distinguishing information such as your Full Name, Mother’s Maiden Name, latest Employer, etc. There is an identity verification process which will necessitate presenting your SSS Number (so better make it ready before you call). Some has reported that it is hard to connect to SSS Hotline during daytime, so it is advised that you call very early in the morning or late at night to avoid the influx of callers. Trained and knowledgeable Customer Representatives will answer your call.
